Planning an extension on your property? Make sure you start the right way.
Many homeowners don’t realise that carrying out works without the correct planning permission can lead to enforcement action and in some cases, this may even mean having to alter or remove the work.
Getting the right advice early can make all the difference.
At Kenneth and Edwards, we’re here to guide you through the planning process and support your application from the outset, so you can move forward with confidence.
We were requested to undertake a survey of a block of flats in Bristol. Reports of water ingress from the roof had been made in several of the flats, previous repairs had been made to the roof.
We made an initial inspection to identify the scope of the leaks, access equipment needed and areas of the building that needed to be cut open. We reattended with a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP), provided by Morclad Access to inspect the building internally and externally.
Several sources of water penetration were found. Multiple different causes were identified for the water ingress. These included incorrect construction details and missing insulation. A full written report with photographs has been provided to our client.
