We were approached by a client having received a letter from the local council to say they have been notified of an extension to the property that had not been granted planning permission.
The building did not fall under permitted development rights. Kenneth and Edwards were able to attend site and prepare full planning drawings and application paperwork for the planning permission submission. We were also able to advise the client that the works would also require building regulations approval. We prepared the required documentation and plans for this to be issued to local authority building control for approval and relieve our client’s stress.
The planning was submitted before any further action was needed from the council. We are now awaiting approval, which we will then confirm to the client.
In cases such as this, it is really important that the correct building regulations and planning approval is sought and granted before any building work is progressed. In some cases, the relevant extensions or conservatories built may need to be taken down and put back to the property’s original state. This can be costly and causes a lot of undue stress. If you are unsure as to whether you require permission for an extension or build, do seek out the advice of a qualified professional, such as a Building Surveyor, who will be able to guide you through the process.
